Features
Easily load maps
Create your map in Tiled and have it running in your game in just three lines of code.
Multiple tilesets
Include as many Tilesets as you like in your map in order to keep everything organised and easy to manage.
Simple physics
With your physical world prepared in Tiled and loaded in Corona you only need one more line of code to get it all built.
Custom properties
You can add custom properties to all Tiles, Objects, Layers (Tile or Object) and Tilesets as well as the Map itself to allow your designers to have as much control over gameplay as is required.
Very fast
No matter how big or complicated your map is, Lime will always allow for a consistently high framerate in your game. Please note, currently there are performance issues on hardware which Ansca and myself are looking into.
External tilesets
Exporting your Tilesets out allow you to reuse them across as many Maps as you like without having to recreate all your Properties, a huge time-saving measure.
Multiple formats
Save your maps in either XML format for readibility or CSV to save some space and Lime will be just fine. Compressed formats to save even more space are coming soon.
Map orientations
Lime completely supports Orthogonal maps allowing you to create a vast number of 2D map styles. Experimental Isometric support is included and all future updates are free.
Multi layered
Lime adheres to the ordering of layers created in Tiled to ensure the correct Z-Depth for every tile and object.
Camera control
Smoothly slide to different locations, track objects or instantly jump to another area as easily as writing this sentence.
Nearly limitless potential
By taking advantage of the Property features of Tiled you will be able to create nearly any game type imaginable. You just bring the ideas.
Make games faster
By seperating out the map creation you will be able to delegate that job to a level designer and spend more time on gameplay.
Animated tiles
Easily add animated tiles that automatically play or tiles with multiple developer controlled animation sequences.
Free tutorials
By purchasing Lime you will get access to loads of tutorials created by myself or the community to help you make the best game possible.
Sample projects
Along with the tutorials you will also get access to a number of sample projects.
Cross platform
Lime itself works on iOS and Android naturally while Tiled works on OSX, Windows and Ubuntu allowing you to have a designer without access to a Mac.
Parallax Scrolling
Lime allows for parallax scrolling in your maps without adding any code.
Compressed map formats
Save out your map in XML, CSV and Base64 as well as compressing it with ZLib or GZip to save space.
